Kuta Beach

Kuta beach is without a doubt the most well known and famous of all beaches in Bali. This is mainly due to the fact that Kuta is where you will find the most common tourist attractions.

As you can see from my pictures below, it's great to go for long walks because the beach stretches for quite a distance. The first time I ever came to Bali I stayed in Kuta. This is the same for many tourists because of the quantity of Bali hotels, restaurants, clubs, bars and nightlife in Kuta.

Kuta Beach Video

This is the kind of scene you can expect to see when first walking onto the beach. I can't get enough of the beach which is one of the main things that I like about Bali so much. The white sands, blue ocean and beautiful sunny days here is enough to make anyone unwind and forget their busy daily lives.

I took this picture a little bit further north after entering the beach area from another section. The Balinese style statues and elements of culture seen around everywhere gives it a real Balinese traditional feeling.

The sunsets from the beach are quite an amazing scene. Many people gather at the Bali beaches to capture pictures and video of the spectacular sunsets in Bali. People are often still swimming and surfing at the beach till the evening.

Kuta Beach - Sunset

As the sun becomes closer to the horizon, it really is like a postcard scene. I always have a feeling of total harmony relaxing on the beaches watching the sunsets. It's not uncommon to see literally hundreds of people on the beaches in Bali awaiting scenes like this.

There's also some nice shady sections under the trees where people can relax and enjoy the beach. It's good for hot sunny days to avoid spending too long in the sun. As Kuta beach is the most common beach tourists visit in Bali, there is quite often locals trying to sell different products and services to people.

In this picture, there are a lot of locals there who walk around the beach selling things like towels, ice creams, cool drinks, snacks etc. It's also very common for the Balinese girls to come up and offer massages and to put sun lotion on or do manicures and so forth.

So if you have never been to Bali, expect to have them offer massages. It can be very relaxing having a massage while laying on the beach. Usually they charge about 50,000 Rupiah ($5 AU approx) for a massage. Some may charge a little more but you can always bargain with the Balinese as it's a normal way of life in Bali.

Pictured below is a little bit further south down the beach. The airport is about 10 minutes from here. It's quite relaxing sunbathing on the beach while watching the planes approaching.

Here I took a picture facing north towards Legian beach direction. Many tourists here are relaxing during a beautiful sunny day on Kuta beach. It actually goes for quite a distance from one end of the beach to the other. The next beach further north from here is Legian beach.

Kuta Beach - Popular for tourists

These Balinese style boats are quite interesting to see and have a unique design that I hadn't ever seen before coming to Bali. Below is a couple of pictures I took of them.

Kuta Beach - Balinese style boats

There is quite a lot of boats lined up on the beach. Sometimes there will be lots of fisherman in their boats. It seemed to be quiet with no boats in the water on this particular day though. It's more common to see boats out fishing from Kelan beach further south of here.

There are also many other activities that people can enjoy at the beach including wake boarding, surfing and water skiing or just simply sunbathing getting a nice tan or having a swim.

For the surfers there is always surfboards available to rent from the locals at the beach.
